Understanding Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA)
Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund (GGRF) –
How can this help your community?

Presented by Vasanth Ganesan and Ben Miller, Guidehouse

The Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) earmarked $27 billion to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to provide financial assistance to expand the use of clean energy and accelerate America’s transition away from fossil fuels through multiple grant programs under the Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund. Tens of millions of dollars in grant funding is going to be available to hundreds of local community lenders, as well as regional governmental entities and other nonprofits in low income and disadvantaged communities to affect critical and much-needed change. Project outcomes will focus on not only delivering greenhouse gas emission reductions, but also will affect market transformation, create a more robust workforce, and deliver long-lasting equitable impacts throughout the nation.

This course will cover the following areas:

  • Provide an overview of the three unique GGRF competitive grants programs

    • National Clean Investment Fund

    • Clean Communities Investment Accelerator

    • Solar for All

  • Provide an overview of the types of projects that can be funded under each program

  • Provide potential GGRF recipients and subrecipients with knowledge and understanding of how to maximize the available funding and seek out public / private partnerships

  • Help GGRF recipients and subrecipients understand how to manage such large grants operations in a compliant manner
