Assistance and Acquisition: Key Differences

Compare and contrast the fundamental similarities and differences between the purchase of goods and services via federal acquisition procedures and providing assistance through federal grants procedures.  Key elements to be reviewed are authorities and statues, regulatory system, competition standards, evaluation criteria, selection and award, payment, and termination.

Learning Objectives:

  • Identify the key differences/similarities between federal acquisition and assistance policies and procedures

  • Discuss the assistance and acquisition competition standards

  • Illustrate the selection and award of contracts made under assistance and acquisition procedures

Cancellations received one week prior to the event date will be eligible for a NGMA credit or refund. Cancellations received less than one week prior to the event date will be eligible for a full NGMA credit. Credits and refunds are not given for no-shows.
