May 1, 2026 – MANASSAS, VA – Crystal Lazarus, senior director of planning and strategy for Goodwill of North Georgia, has been elected to serve on the National Grants Management Association (NGMA) Board of Directors. Her three-year term began on May 1.
In her current role, Lazarus ensures financial and accounting policy compliance, which includes reviewing and monitoring, collaborating with other departments and organization leadership to ensure a solid process and compliance, and other planning and strategy responsibilities. She has worked in financial leadership roles with notable nonprofit organizations and government agencies, including Georgia Emergency Management and Homeland Security Agency (GEMA/HS); Atlanta Regional Commission; Emory University; and Union City (GA) Government.

Lazarus has a master’s degree in accounting from Rutgers University. She is involved in various community initiatives, and has served as treasurer of Science ATL, the United Way Young Professionals and HealthMPowers, a nonprofit organization focused on improving children’s health.
Lazarus was elected by Association members by majority vote during the NGMA Board elections in February 2026. The NGMA Board of Directors is comprised of 12 member volunteers with experience in professional leadership roles and in grants management across numerous sectors including federal, state and local governments; education (K-12 and institutes of higher education); nonprofits; and tribal governments.
NGMA supports more than 7,500 professionals across grants management, including supervisory, support, accounting and compliance roles.
