July Monthly Webinar

Bridging the Language Barrier Across Departments
Presented by Johna Rodgers, Partners for Rural Impact

Finance says it’s “just a purchase order.” Grants swears they did fill out the form correctly. And now everyone’s pointing at the new OMB guidelines… which half the team hasn’t even heard about. Sound familiar?

In this session, we’ll cut through the confusion and decode the different “languages” spoken across grants, finance and program teams. You’ll walk away with practical, tested strategies to reduce back and forth, prevent misunderstandings, and get things right the first time—no battlefield required.

Learning Objectives:

  • Create relationships with internal “bilingual champions” who can speed up processes.
  • Use the OMB guidelines to open communication channels and minimize fear and confusion
  • Provide simple customer service actions that quickly show they are sympathetic and ready to help
  • Develop leadership buy-in for cross-department and whole-agency discussions to address
