Value of Membership

Education

Grants managers must adhere to numerous rules, policies and regulations, including the Uniform Guidance (2 CFR 200), state and local governments, awarding agencies and more. NGMA helps members keep up with the latest information, learn best practices and remain compliant in the management of federal funds, through virtual and in-person education and trainings from proven experts in the field. These opportunities include:

AGT is the largest grants management training event in the nation. Our multi-day, in-person event features keynote speakers, plenary panels, 50+ breakout sessions, roundtable discussions, expo hall, and plenty of networking opportunities.

Our 60- to 90-minute monthly webinars cover timely topics in grants management and are free to members. Through regular webinar attendance, members may earn up to 10 Continuing Professional Education (CPE) credits per year free of charge (a nearly $500 value).

GMBoK Training is a two-day course that provides in-depth information to help attendees understand the full grant lifecycle and successfully manage a grant, from pre-award through closeout and auditing. GMBoK Training follows the GMBoK Guide as a training tool.

NGMA offers four trainings per year: one in-person and three virtual trainings in the spring, fall and winter. Private virtual group trainings are also available for groups of 25+.

GMBoK Guide is a fundamental resource for all grants management professionals that covers every step of the grant lifecycle. Members have 24/7 access at no charge to the online version of the Guide. A hard copy may be purchased on its own or is included in the GMBoK Training registration fee.

An annual, full-day virtual education event on timely grants management topics. (Held every October.) Past forum agenda topics have included New Grants Managers, Infrastructure, Audits and Change & Innovation in Grants Management.

Attendees can share wins and challenges or simply chat about the latest grants management issues impacting the sector. Virtual sector meetings are held annually and in-person sector roundtable discussions are a part of the Annual Grants Training agenda.

The NGMA Awards recognize three deserving grants management professionals. The awards are presented at NGMA’s Annual Grants Training (AGT), held annually in Washington, D.C.
