NGMA can help you advance in your professional journey
Through education, training and involvement in the NGMA community, you can build your career in grants and ensure you have the knowledge, expertise and support you need to succeed.
Establish yourself as an elite grants management professional by earning the CGMS credential
The CGMS program is a trusted and respected credential in grants management. Earning the CGMS credential reflects a professional’s mastery of the grant lifecycle, commitment to continuing education, and positions them as leaders within the grants management field.
Showcase your expertise, expand your network and help your grants community
NOTE: All committee and task force volunteer roles are currently filled.
Volunteers play an important role in fulfilling NGMA’s mission by helping build programs and services aligned with the Association’s strategic framework. NGMA sends a call for volunteers to all active NGMA members every April to fill available spots on committees, chapters, task forces or other programs. Selected volunteers are notified directly by NGMA staff prior to May 1. If a volunteer spot opens outside the Call for Volunteers period, NGMA will solicit for volunteers as needed.
You must have an active NGMA membership to participate in volunteer activities.

Members ensure that content in the Grants Management Body of Knowledge (GMBoK) Guide and associated training is correct, up-to-date and accessible to grants managers.
Members provide leadership to the sectors within NGMA: federal government | state & local government | K-12 education | higher education | nonprofit | tribal.
Examples: lead virtual and in-person sector meetings; participate in Ask an Expert series as advisors to new grants managers; and act as subject matter experts (SMEs) where needed.
Members develop high-quality educational content to support grants management, compliance and operational best practices. Members will contribute to creating eLearning courses, webinars, toolkits and other resources designed to support NGMA membership.
Members ensure that newly-developed eLearning courses and educational materials are accurate, clear, and compliant with regulations. Members review content for proofreading errors, accessibility, and alignment with grants management policies and best practices.
Share your knowledge and insight with the grants community
Reach grants managers directly by participating in the largest and most comprehensive grants management training of the year – Annual Grants Training (AGT). NGMA sends out a call for presenters to the grants community every year in search of robust presentations from knowledgeable professionals to add to the training agenda.
AGT features 70+ breakout sessions, roundtable discussions and plenary panels to provide attendees with critical updates and information, best practices and action items to take back to the office.
The AGT Call for Presenters takes place every August-September.
