The GMBoK Training
provides an in-depth understanding of the grants management lifecycle, from solicitation to application evaluation to the closeout and audit phases. It covers the laws, regulations, and policies affecting federal compliance while calling specific attention to recent changes affecting the administration of federal awards.

Goals of this course include:

  • Becoming familiar with the requirements through the entire lifecycle of federal grants, including
    pre-award, award, post-award, and closeout phases;

  • Finding out about the new changes to the federal rules on procurement, the closeout process, indirect costs, and other areas;

  • Recognizing the importance of internal controls in managing federal awards and reducing the risk of fraud, waste and abuse;

  • Appreciating the responsibilities of managing your recipients and subrecipients; and

  • Understanding the audit requirements for all parties, including the auditors, the auditees, and the federal awarding agencies.

Prerequisite and
Advanced Preparation
A minimum of a bachelor’s degree plus 1-2 years of full-time grants management experience or 3-4 years of grants management experience without a degree. Familiarity with 2 CFR 200 Uniform Guidance is required.

NGMA accepts substitutions through March 24, 2022. Requests must be made by the original registrant via email. If a nonmember substitutes for a member, the difference between the two rates will be due for payment.

All requests to cancel GMBoK registration must be submitted by the original registrant (not from their employer) by email ([email protected]).

  • Cancellations received by midnight ET, Tuesday, January 11, 2022, will be eligible for a full NGMA refund.

  • Cancellations received from January 12 to midnight ET, Thursday, March 24, 2022, will be eligible to receive a refund less a $300 fee.

  • After March 24, 2022, no refunds or credits will be issued.

  • No credits or refunds will be given to no-shows.

Notice of cancellation or substitution to NGMA does not include hotel accommodations. Please contact the hotel directly to make changes to reservations.

Registration, attendance at, or participation in any NGMA-sponsored activity constitutes an agreement by the registrant to the use and distribution (both now and in the future) of the registrant or Participant’s image or voice in photographs, videotapes, electronic reproductions, and audiotapes of such activities by NGMA and other third parties, including but not limited to the event app or other software utilized. Your registration may include technology that monitors your activities, such as session attendance, public chats, Q&A during sessions, and booths visited.

Usage Disclosure
By registering for the 2022 GMBoK Training, you agree to allow your data to be collected by NGMA and be transferred securely to and stored by third-party technology providers and/or event partners, including but not limited to meeting app providers (Personify and Conference I/O), payment processors (Payscape), the host hotel (Crystal Gateway Marriott), and CAPP partners.

The purpose is for the fulfillment of the service(s) related to event registration and attendance; these may include but are not limited to processing payments, confirming hotel reservations/rooming needs, tracking session attendance and continuing professional education (CPE) credits. Additionally, NGMA CAPP partners may rent attendee data for marketing purposes under a single-use agreement.
All third-party providers and/or event partners have their own privacy and collection practices; NGMA is not responsible for their independent policies.

Event Postponement
or Cancellation
NGMA is not responsible for delays, damage, loss or incurred transportation or lodging costs by causes not reasonably within the control of the NGMA or other emergency conditions, including, but not limited to, fire; casualty; flood; epidemic or pandemic; earthquake; explosion or accident; blockade embargo; inclement weather; government restraints; restraints or orders of civil defense or military authorities; acts of public enemy; riot or civil disturbance; strike; lockout, boycott or other labor disturbance; inability to secure sufficient labor; technical or other personnel failure; impairment or lack of adequate transportation facilities; inability to obtain, condemnation, requisition or commandeering of necessary supplies or equipment; local, state or federal laws, ordinances, rules orders, decrees, or regulations whether legislative, executive or judicial, and whether constitutional or unconstitutional; or Act of God.

By registering the attendee agrees to indemnify, defend and hold harmless NGMA, the event facility, the owner of such facility, and the city in which this event is being held, and their respective officers, agents and employees, from and against all bodily and personal injury, loss, claims or damage to any person or any property arising from cancellation or postponement due to above circumstances and conditions. 




National Grants Management Association is registered with the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA) as a sponsor of continuing professional education on the National Registry of CPE Sponsors. State Boards of Accountancy have the final authority on the acceptance of individual courses for CPE credit. Complaints regarding registered sponsors may be submitted to the National Registry of CPE Sponsors through its website: www.nasbaregistry.org.
