The Columbus Chapter is celebrating International Grant Professionals Day with a webinar lunch. Bring $5 for pizza and your own soda. We will watch a previously recorded webcast and have a round table discussion afterwards.
While chapter meetings are a member-only benefit, non-members are able to experience one complimentary meeting. If you know someone who has not attended an NGMA chapter meeting and would benefit from the topics we discuss, feel free to invite that colleague to register for this meeting.

Improper Payments—Background, Requirements and Preventive Strategies

Federal agencies must assure compliant use of grant funds including consequences when nonfederal entities are non-compliant. Policies and procedures that are non-compliant risk consequences, including the loss of awards. This session will review; the legal and regulatory background of improper payments requirements; what improper payments are; review their treatment under the UGG and provide examples of improper payments. Also covered, auditor responsibilities to determine and review improper payments, including examples of Inspector General reports on agency compliance.

- Examples of improper payments and how they could have been avoided; and
- Proactive strategies to prevent improper payments
