Government Accounting Standards Board 87 and 96 –
How to Achieve and Maintain Compliance

Join us for an introduction and overview of GASB 87 and GASB 96, implementation for state and local public sector entities, with visuals of sample contracts, journal entries, and footnote disclosures.

Learning Objectives:

  • Provide a general overview of GASB 87 and 96 - what's qualified and what's not

  • Identify important factors when implementing GASB 87 and 96 - i.e. terms, discount rate and payments etc.

  • Specify similarities and differences between GASB 87 and 96

  • Provide samples of qualified and non-qualified contracts under GASB 87 and 96

  • Provide sample journal entries and footnote disclosures
