Talking Grants to Non-Grants Managers

Within a program or an organization, the Grant Manager is never the only person who interacts with grants and grant funding. The array of people who touch a grant may not have the same understanding of what a grant is, how Federal funding is unique, or how their program is structured to support compliance. This webinar will provide key information about grants for professionals who interact with grant funding or oversight but are not Grants Managers themselves. While Non-Grants Managers may not be entrenched in the world of grants, they still have the aim of improving communication between departments, programs, or organizations that all work together, separately, on managing Federal awards.

Learning Objectives:

  • Gain understanding of what a grant is, who is eligible, and what types of grants you may be involved with.

  • Gain an understanding of what makes Federal awards distinct from other types of grant funding and common challenges to maintaining compliance.

  • Gain an understanding of the key components of managing a grant including how to structure the team, define goals, create a reporting structure, and measure outcomes.
