Call for 2020 Annual Awards Nominations


The purpose of NGMA’s Annual Awards Program is to:

  • Recognize achievement and express appreciation to professionals who demonstrate standards of excellence in grants management expertise;
  • Encourage and inspire other grants industry professionals to recognize their potential and elevate their grants management competency; and
  • Express appreciation to NGMA’s partner organizations, key stakeholders, and associated colleagues who assist and support NGMA’s mission.

NGMA's 2020 ANNUAL AWARD CATEGORIES

Newton Award
– Recognizes outstanding, sustained leadership in the grants management field. Has

executed sensitive and difficult assignments in grants policy or grants administration. Has an articulated
vision for grants management professionals and has made a difference in the profession.

Distinguished Service Award – Recognizes impact in the grants management field through innovation
or creativity as demonstrated by a notable achievement.

Impact Award/Private Sector – Recognizes exceptional contribution in advancing the field of grants
management by an individual from the private sector, including but not limited to business and industry,
nonprofit organizations, professional associations, and national publications. This could include a general
or specific positive impact on professional grants management practice, methodology, advocacy,
partnership, or volunteerism.

Impact Award/Public Sector – Recognizes exceptional contribution in advancing the field of grants
management by a public official at the federal, state, or local level, or by a Congressional representative.
This could include a general or specific positive impact on professional grants management practice,
methodology, advocacy, partnership, or volunteerism.

Award Nomination Deadline
: Monday, December 31, 2019

Nominees Notified of Decision: Friday, January 31, 2020
2020 Annual Awards Program: NGMA will recognize award winners during NGMA's Annual Grants Training.

NOMINATION INSTRUCTIONS

Award nominees may be nominated in more than one award category. Self-nominations are accepted.

Nominations should be submitted by completing the Annual Awards Nomination Form.

To submit an award nomination, complete the Annual Award Nomination Form by Tuesday, December
