2027 Annual Grants Training

Call for Presenters

Event dates: March 22-25, 2027
Location: Washington Hilton (Washington, D.C.)

NGMA is accepting applications to present at the 2027 Annual Grants Training. Our goal is to build an agenda which features engaging presentations and workshops, represents a variety of topics, appeals to attendees with varying degrees of experience in the field, and provides tangible skills and resources for professionals engaged in all parts of the grants management life cycle.  

Presentations must be educational in nature. Sales pitches, products, and/or marketing programs that promote an organization’s services or products will not be accepted.  
Applications are accepted on behalf of the individual who submitted the application to present and not a company. 
Note: An individual may submit up to three (3) session applications. Additional submissions from an individual will not be reviewed.
Submissions will undergo an anonymous review. Organization and presenter names and details will not be provided to submission reviewers.
Each in-person session will be 60 minutes.

All presentations with relevant and hot topic issues facing grants management professionals will be considered.

Session FormatS

Submit your application for one of the following formats:

Lecture – Formal 60-minute presentation given on a specific topic by a single individual, including a speech followed by a Q&A session.

Panel – Formal 60-minute presentation given on a specific topic by a group of 2 to 4 presenters, including a speech followed by a Q&A session.

Case Study – Formal 60-minutes presentation based on a specific, real-world example of how a topic looks in practice at an organization.

Workshop – Interactive 60-minute session during which audience members participate in hands-on activities or put skill into action.

Roundtable – Informal 60-minute session during which the speaker facilitates a conversation with attendees on a specific topic. Speaker provides context for the topic and leads the conversation but does not prepare a lecture. No PPT for these sessions. (only one speaker permitted)

How To – 30-minute session focused on teaching attendees a specific skill or method. (Filling out a specific form, setting up a tracking system, etc.) Only one speaker is permitted. If selected, the How To sessions will not be presented live during AGT. They will be pre-recorded and be made available to AGT attendees.

Sector sessions

NGMA seeks presentations specifically for the following sectors:

• Federal
• State and local governments
• Tribal
• Nonprofit
• K-12
• Higher education

These sessions should be designed to speak to the specific challenges of a grants sector or about a topic that is unique to a sector.

Notification of selected and declined presentations will be given to applicants on November 20, 2026.

If your session is selected and you agree to be a presenter, all presenters will be required to register and pay to attend AGT at the discounted speaker rate.

If your application is approved and accepted, please ensure that you can meet the following speaker deadlines:

January 8, 2027 – Submit signed speaker agreement, bio and headshot to NGMA

February 3, 2027 – Submit final slide deck to NGMA
