FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE NGMA and PES Team Up For Grants
Management Practice Study
The National Grants Management Association (NGMA) has teamed with Professional Examination
Service (PES) to conduct a comprehensive practice analysis study that will lead to NGMA's new credentialing program.
PES is working with Practice Analysis Panels of subject management experts to
draft a detailed description of the tasks performed and knowledge required by grants management professionals. The Panel members consist of content experts selected to ensure a broad representation of key professional
and demographic variables. The resulting delineation of practice will be validated
through a web-based survey of 1,500+ grants management specialists, and subsequently shared worldwide for public comment.
The CGMS credential
is designed to elevate professional standards, recognize individuals who are committed to the profession of grants
management, and designate those who demonstrate knowledge essential to the practice of grants management. The National Grants Management Certification Council (NGMCC), the independent body that will administer
the credentialing program, plans to have the first group of grants management professionals take the examination and be reviewed
for certification in 2009.
For full text of the press release, please visit the Certification page
of this site.
